Certificate I in Information Technology

This Pre-Vocational Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) resource is aligned to units of competency from the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) Training Package specifically to Certificate I in Information Technology. This resource provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to function at a basic level of ICT competency in the contemporary information society. It will enable a person to undertake basic ICT functions using a personal computer and to engage in fundamental online activities. It could be described as 'the community standard in ICT literacy' and may be wholly or partially used as an access and equity program. This course is for people who want to acquire basic computer skills at a foundation level, that are required in an increasing proportion of contemporary job roles. You will develop the knowledge and skills required to successfully operate a personal computer and operate a range of application software applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, presentation packages, email and internet browsers. The outcomes provide a foundation for developing higher-order computing and information technology skills.
