Certificate II in Retail
This Pre-Vocational Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) resource is aligned to units of competency from the Retail Training Package specifically to Certificate II in Retail. It provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions requiring basic retail operational knowledge and limited practical skills in a defined context. Work would be undertaken in various retail store settings, such as speciality stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail fast food outlets. Individuals may work with some autonomy or in a team but usually under close supervision. This course is for people who want to work in a retail sales and service environment at a junior level. You will learn how to communicate effectively with colleagues and customers, apply safe working practices and perform stock control and point-of-sale procedures. You will also learn how to minimise theft, operate retail technology and organise and maintain work areas. This will take place through a combination of individual and team based learning strategies that include practical activities.
